This world-renowned food retail brand is looking for an experienced procurement manager with expert knowledge of sourcing fresh foods to join the team in Germany. You will utilize your expert knowledge of the market and strategic procurement to optimize the supply of goods, improve quality, reduce risk and negotiate optimal contract terms

You will be responsible for implementing category management methodology to develop best-in-class sourcing strategies to identify opportunities for cost savings and ensure standardized processes are followed for all suppliers

As the Purchasing Manager for Fresh Foods you will be targeted with the continuous improvement of supplier's operational and commercial performance in line with the firms global business strategy. You will work cross-functionally with marketing and supply chain teams on new product development programs and ensure that supplier are prepared and ready to deliver to changing business demands.

As Purchasing Manager for Fresh Foods you will also:-

• Review and analyze all commercial contracts to identify opportunities for cost optimization and risk mitigation
• Select new suppliers together with Quality teams to ensure the business is working with the best quality products and competitive prices
• Building long-term relationships with suppliers, farmers & producers to ensure continuity of supply
• Working collaboratively with global cross-functional teams to execute projects at regional and local level

As the Purchasing Manager for Fresh Foods you should have:-

• Fluency in German and English; any additional European languages highly beneficial
• Proven track record of sourcing fresh foods within a food, retail or hospitality business
• Expert knowledge of the fresh food industry with a professional network of food producers & farmers
• Strategic procurement experience and ability to build highly effective sourcing strategies
• Cross-functional stakeholder management experience to deliver international projects such as NPD
• Excellent analytical skills to understand complex business data and identify any problems or opportunities

This will be a fast-paced role to work in a global business to deliver a core commodity for business operations and will therefore have a high level of visibility within the company. You will have the autonomy to define the sourcing strategy in order to deliver the best products whilst simultaneously reducing cost and increasing value.
