Buyer for Indirect Categories - Property Services - £40K + Excellent Package - Central London

This leading property services firm seeks an ambitious procurement professional who has experience in FM and other categories, to lead the role of category buyer. With a recent investment from a major private equity firm, the future is extremely bright for this already-leading firm. They are looking to expand their portfolio of sites across the UK, and so urgently require a procurement professional to join their team and make an impact.

You will be working alongside the head of procurement, and act as second in command to devise new strategies and implement new practices, essentially shaping the procurement function and creating a new direction. As the procurement team expands, your job will become not only more complex, but more exciting, facing bigger projects and having a heightened amount of responsibility. Therefore, the prospect of career progression within the first 12-18 months are huge.

This opportunity is based in central London and offers a salary of £40,000 alongside a fantastic package made up of a 12% bonus, matched pension, and many benefits such as gym and restaurant discounts! This is an extremely exciting opportunity for a procurement specialist who has experience in indirect categories to elevate their skill set and experiences in this vital role.

The Indirects Category Buyer will be responsible for:

• Managing a £30 Million spend alongside the Head of Procurement across multiple FM categories, including HVAC, Security Services and Construction Services
• Being pivotal in the construction, maintenance, and ownership of a supplier catalogue for FM related products and / or services
• Successfully managing relationships with new and existing suppliers, communicating effectively on a day-to-day basis, and reviewing performance regularly
• Engaging with company initiatives by striving for continuous improvement and success within the procurement function and wider organisation

Required Background for the Indirects Category Buyer:

• 2 years+ commercial experience working as a Procurement Buyer gaining a strong understanding of FM category buying, with knowledge of system implementations within the procurement space, such as SAP, GEP, Wax Digital, and Coupa
• Impressive FM or Construction Procurement track record, with a CV clearly demonstrating personal achievements and experience in processes such as online auctions and SRM
• Experience of overseeing procurement processes, including RFI, Tender processes and handling high purchasing values and complex contracts
• A degree education and other qualifications, including CIPS are desirable
