European Energy / Commodity Trading Market Data Owner

Global leading energy / commodity trading data software firm seeks a bright, dynamic European Market Data Owner to join their Global Enterprise Data Product Team based from London, although initially you will be working from home until Covid restrictions allow.

My client are a globally renowned business with over 20 years experience working with hundreds of energy/commodity trading businesses globally. Although very well established, they still have a nimble, proactive culture where you can join, have your voice heard and make a real difference. So this is looking for an experienced Product Owner with some strong commercial experience and keen to take the next step in their career, taking on greater autonomy and responsibility.

Your role will be focused on the European region, but there are no geographical boundaries so you'll have the scope to operate on a global basis, delivering the data flow strategy with ground floor innovation through simplification, abstraction and management of complex data processes across the business. Working as part of a wider global data product team of 5, you'll enable clients to consume quality content and analytics into their critical tools and processes, where, when and how it is needed.

Specialisised in Energy/Commodity Trading & Risk, you'll support the existing Enterprise Data Director in in the development of a clear Trading & Risk consolidated data governance vision which utilises cost / benefit analysis tools to drive the 1-5 year strategy. Working with the Enterprise Data Director, you'll develop a clear Trading & Risk solution by prioritising the data product roadmap items that will drive data quality improvements measured by higher year on year new revenue growth.

Salary: Flexible depending on the level and experience but circa £70-90k basic + bonus + benefits

Key skills and experience needed

• 3 years+ experience of market data experience in energy / commodity trading in a product ownership ore related role, delivering customer facing SaaS services or products
• Specific experience in Gas & Power Trading Market Data would be preferred
• Strong understanding of Market Risk Management
• Experience working in an Agile development environment would be beneficial
• Strong customer facing skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Degree educated and an analytical and inquisitive mind, allowing you to solve complex problems
• British or EU passport or hold a visa allowing you to live and work in the UK without any restrictions or obligations from my client.
• Native or fluency in English (written and spoken) is 100% essential, with fluency in other European languages including German and Spanish also being useful
